Q.1. What is Cyber Safety?
Ans. Cyber safety is a part of computer security which is applied to network and corresponding computer so we can define 'Cyber Safety' as secure use of information and communication technology. The term 'cyber safety' is all about keeping the information safe and secure from intruders and also becoming responsible for proper use of technology.
Q.2. Define the following terms:
Ans. Virus: Viruses attach themselves to clean files and infect other clean files. They can spread uncontrollably, damaging a system's core functionality and deleting or corrupting files.

Trojans: Trojan disguises itself as legitimate software, or is included in legitimate software that has been tampered with.

Spyware: Spyware is also a malicious program that is designed to spy on you. It hides itself in the background and observe your activity online including your passwords, credit card numbers, surfing habits, etc.

Worms: Worms also infect entire networks of devices by replicating itself, either local or across the internet, by using network interfaces.

Ransomware: Ransomware also called scare ware are malware which can lock down your computer and threaten to copy your data or erase everything- unless a ransom is paid to its owner.

Adware: These are advertising software which can undermine your security just to serve you ads - which can give a lot of other malware a way in.

Botnets: Botnets are networks of infected computers that are made to work together under the control of an attacker.

Q.3. What is the role of Antivirus Software?
Ans. The Antivirus software provides protection form various threats. It includes:
  • Scanning the external devices when attached to the computer.
  • Performing periodic scan of the files on the system.
  • Detecting and removing any threat that comes from the internet.
Q.4. Discuss guidelines or policies around passwords that we should implement?
Ans: The tips are:
  1. Keep your login IDs and passwords confidential.
  2. Never write them down or share them among members of your staff.
  3. Never use sensitive information as part of your login ID or password, and create strong passwords that contain at least eight characters, with a combination of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
  4. Create different passwords for each website and change them periodically.
Q.5. What is the difference between AntiVirus and Antimalware?
Ans. Antimalware ( also known as malware removal tools) does not try to replace user's antivirus software, but rather complement it, so that the user can take the benefit or multiple layers of protection to fight against the growing number of malware attacks.
Antivirus program are more efficient and effective on the traditional type of online threats such as worms, virus, trojan, keyloggers, while anti malware can detect and remove new and sophisticated malware strains and strengthen security.
